Jay Cutler doesn’t want to be in Chicago anymore. He is reportedly looking for the ‘perfect solution’ outside of Chicago — or won’t be playing anywhere in 2017.
When the Bears release him after failing to trade him, there’s only place he should look — Miami. He may not like it, but at almost 34, the Dolphins’ backup job is his last shot at becoming a strong starting QB in the NFL.
It’s more the who than the where. He is Adam Gase, whose work as the Bears’ offensive coordinator helped Cutler produce his best, most efficient NFL season in ’15.
Perkins ran a little tentative at times as a rookie, when it was clear he was being too overprotective of the ball. There were some points at which he was unsure what holes to hit. That’s exactly why he was taken 145 picks behind Elliott. But he also was taken one pick ahead of Howard, who racked up 1,611 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns given his big Bears opportunity.
That’s coming for Perkins from the Giants in Year 2. He can be a consistent 20-touch back, too, with Vereen still around to spell him on passing downs.
Both Perkins’ rookie production and size (5-10, 210 pounds) draw good Online Cheap Jerseys comparisons to the Falcons’ Devonta Freeman (5-8, 206 pounds). Although Perkins may not be as explosive as Freeman, his receiving and red zone skills set him up to be what the Giants have so desperately needed — a well-rounded, prolific back.
