NFL suspends three cornerbacks, one wideout four games each for PEDs

The NFL cranked up the old Friday afternoon news dump around 4 p.m., releasing news of three different cornerbacks and one wide receiver getting suspended for performance enhancing drug usage.

The league — via the respective teams involved — announced Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins, Packers cornerback Demetri Goodson, Jaguars cornerback Aaron Colvin and Titanswideout Andrew Turzilli were all suspended four games.

It’s not unusual to see a rash of suspensions on a Friday afternoon during the offseason. The difference here is the names involved aren’t exactly huge, although Colvin and Collins are pretty significant names.

Collins was the 42nd-overall pick in the draft out of LSU last year, and losing four games is a pretty major setback in his development.

“We are disappointed to hear the news regarding Jalen today,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said in a statement released by the team. “I have already spoken to Jalen about this, and I have no doubt this will be something that he will learn from.”

Colvin, who started 15 games for the Jaguars last season, issued an apology on Twitter.

Goodson appears in 14 for the Packers. Turzilli managed just two receptions for the Titans.

All of the players involved will be eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

The new uniforms are supposed to be under lock and key but it looks like one picture might have leaked. It’s not clear if the picture at the bottom of the page is actually the new uniforms, but the person who tweeted it out did delete it just minutes after posting it on Friday.
